Who it's for

Club-level chess players who have hit a plateau on standard tactics training. Players who can find a tactic once they know one exists — but miss it in real games, where nobody announces it first.

Why it exists

Most puzzle apps train the wrong skill. They tell you there is a winning move, then ask you to find it. In a real game, nobody tells you. The gap between 1600 and 2000 is not calculation — it is the moment of recognition. Seeing the fork on sight. Noticing the loose piece before your opponent does. That trigger is what separates the plateau from the climb, and it is what existing tools do not train.

How it works

ChessWarp serves real tactical positions without announcing that a tactic exists. You read the board. You decide whether something is there. Then you find it, or confirm it is quiet. After each position the app shows what was there and why — which piece carried the threat, which square it claimed, what the engine saw. Recognition speed, not just accuracy, is what the dashboard tracks.

About the corpus

Every position in ChessWarp is verified by Stockfish at depth 22 before it enters the corpus. The engine provides the ground truth; the product provides the curriculum. There is no AI generation in the lesson content. The intelligence is in the corpus — 26,000 positions, curated, graded by motif and difficulty, with piece-vulnerability and tension data computed offline and attached to each lesson.
