Every measurement happens on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing leaves the device unless you export it yourself.
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising code. We do not know how many people use this app, which features they use, or when. That is the trade we made, and this page is the whole of it.
If the app sells an upgrade on Google Play, its Android build compiles Google's Play Billing library, and Play Billing brings Google libraries of its own including a telemetry transport. That is what the network permission on such a build is for. What those libraries do is Google's to answer for, and a build that sells no upgrade links none of it.
No Ethicq code sends anything about you anywhere. Where an app fetches public reference data, such as a central bank's daily table of exchange rates or a weather model's sea-level pressure, or looks up a place you search for, it does so only when you ask for it, directly from that service and never through an Ethicq server. No measurement is ever in the request. Each app's privacy screen names every service it contacts and exactly what that service receives, including the words of a place search where an app has one.
Measurements, sessions, calibration profiles and settings are written to the app's own storage on your phone. They are not uploaded. They are removed when you delete the app, and you can delete any session from inside it.
If the app listens, audio is analyzed as it arrives and discarded. It is never recorded and there is no buffer of it to recover. If it uses the camera, the preview is drawn and thrown away, and no frame is kept, saved or sent.
If the app keeps measuring while your phone is locked, it does so only during a session you started. Your phone shows the session is running the whole time: on iPhone with its microphone indicator, and on Android with a notification that can also end it (or, if you turned notifications off, under active apps in Quick Settings). The microphone closes when you end the session. With no session running, listening stops when you leave the app.
The app asks for what it needs to do its job, and for nothing that learns who you are. Your phone shows the full list before you install.
Exporting a CSV or sharing a card hands a file to your own phone's share sheet. Where it goes from there is between you and whatever you chose. Nothing leaves the app on its own.
The app is free. Where there is a paid upgrade it is one optional in-app purchase, $5.99 once, with no subscription. It is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details, and we are not told who bought it.
The app collects nothing from anyone, of any age. There is no profile to build, so there is no difference in how a child's use is handled.
This page is generated from the pledge inside the app, which is versioned and dated. It is currently version 7, effective 2026-09-22. A promise cannot be changed without that version moving.
